Hello there.
I'm Jedi Knight G. Since the creation of the New Jedi Order by Master Skywalker, the Jedi have been free to take part in previously forbidden activities. One of those being Marriage. The following are the tales of my experiences being married with children. May the force be with you...G.

"If into the security recordings you go, only pain will you find". - Yoda
Well, it's not painful...at least I hope not. Hopefully you'll find it funny.
This is a video I did with a fellow Full Sail graduate shortly after graduating. It was shot in Kentucky where he lives. We were bored and wanted to play with the editing equipment. The whole thing is Improv (which I love). It starts out with my twisted version of Goldilocks & the 3pigs (not bears...Pigs) and ends with a reinactment of every argument Jenn & I have ever had. Enjoy. Oh and John, the director/cinematographer is doing well. Check out Tunnell Mill Pictures.
"You don't know the power of the dark side." - Darth Vader
After this past week/weekend, I think I have a pretty good idea of it. It's just been one thing after another...bunch of little stuff that snowballed into one big....@#%%&@*(#%#@! You get the idea.
First thing is the situation with mine & Jenn's jobs. Jenn's is uncertain. She could be unemployed any day now. I'm thankful that it hasn't happened yet. My job, well I'm not firing myself, but I definately need to drum up some more business. Need to spend some money on advertisement, but I need to make some money, but I need to advertise to make money, but I need to make money to advertise...the endless loop. The hunt for another full/part time media job has went nowhere. Not much out there, atleast that would allow me to continue what I do with Red Five. So that's frustrating. I went to White Hall to shoot some video for Brandon and his fall theme. Shot lots of video, it's a big project. There was one 5 minute section that needed to be done by this past wednesday. Well, when I got home to edit it...all the footage was great, EXCEPT for the one section that had to be done....OHHHaAAAAGEHAHHNNGGG! So B met me a couple days later to reshoot. Then Rocky came over and I was going to show him some tricks on Final Cut (using B's footage) and none of my camera's seemed to want to work with my MAC!! WHAT?!!??? HUH??? My MAC & Cams just decided they wouldn't talk to each other. Fast Fwd 2hrs later and now that's fixed, but Final-Cut won't stay open unless the capture window is up (I know most of you don't understand what's up with the editing gear, but just know that it was frustrating). I found out that I needed to reinstall the Final-Cut suite, that takes 2hrs. But wait - There's MORE..... Got our waterbill in and it was $80....WHAT!!!!!! Just happens that we have a big leak out by the main. So here comes Bryant water to check it out. "Well, it looks like the leak is about a foot on your side of the main" Translation- It's your problem, not ours. 12inches. 12inches on my side and I'm out a couple hundred bucks. 12inches the other way and the city would've taken care of it. So there you go yoda...size or length does matter. But wait - There's MORE... Ok, I won't go into detail here but let's just say "BILLS". There you know what I mean. But wait - There's MORE... Jenn & Pam were going to Hamburg friday night to do a Spa. Part of Jenn's BeautiControl business. They were also going to pick Haven up from the grandparents and drop Xander off. Both of our vehicles had that check engine light on, so I took my Santa Fe (aka RED 5) to Jiffy Lube that morning and got it all serviced up. Done! I'll do Jenn's later when we get some money...hahahahahhahahaahahhah Sorry, I just thought that was funny. So Jenn and Pam took Xander and got into the recently serviced Santa Fe and headed to Hamburg. I was going to use the free time to work some more on Brandon's project. Well about 40min later Jenn calls "Paul, the truck is dead." WHAT!!!!!! "It just stopped running." They were stuck just outside of Pine Bluff with no air or water in a dead truck. Rewind...Xander's with them, my 21month old son. I'm gone. I grabbed my insulin and some needles (cause I know I'm going to be awhile) and run. I got my flashers on and hauling. We call B, because his house is near by, but he's almost to his parents. Well, that won't work. But someone was praying and Brad, a trooper friend of Brandon's was in the area with his patrol car and he headed to them. He was there in about 10min. He loaded all of Jenn's spa products into his patrol car and took them to Brandon's. Brandon gave Jenn the code to get into the house through the garage and Xander got his first ride in a patrol car (don't make a habit of that son). Rewind...while Jenn & Pam were waiting on Brad & the tow truck, Xander was standing in the backseat and started to just let the water flow...his diapers didn't hold and he pee'd all over my backseat. And wouldn't you know it...there wasn't a diaper to be had. So they strip his pants off and Jenn is holding Xander up for everyone on 530 to see his business and here comes Brad & the tow truck at the same time. What a site that must have been. My son's first interaction with the police and he moons them. So I pick them up from and we go to Hamburg. Of course I didn't tell you that I didn't sleep any the night before, must have been the stress. So Jenn has her spa, I swap out the kids and we head back to Bryant. We get home about 1:30am. unghhhh! There goes my project time. When I get up the next morning the last thing I want to do is work. Oh and it looks like it's the transmission...I'm trying not to think about it. But the day goes without too much turbulance. But wait....yeah you know Today, everything seems to be going ok. I'm in the recliner studing our lesson for small group at 4p and Haven is playing. She's dancing with one of her animals and steps onto the curve base of her rocking horse, loses her balance and falls into the oak entertainment center. OWCH!!!! I run and pick her up to hold her and kiss her booboo. Then I realize that her cry is one of those...this is REALLY painful cries. If you're a parent, you know there are different degrees of a cry. This was a level red. She opened her mouth and all a saw was blood. "She bit her tongue!" I thought, then I saw a gash just under her lip. "She bit through her bottom lip!".......pause...."JENNNNNN!" Jenn & Pam grab haven up and get a rag, I call our small group and inform them that there will not be a meeting tonight, and we go to the emergency room. I have to say that the staff was GREAT! They did a great job at getting Haven calmed down and making her feel safe. The nurse was incredible. The doctor just put some glue on it and a band-aid and said it should be ok in about 3days. When it was over Haven was covered in stickers provided by the nurse and telling everyone "Bye!" I'm glad she did so well. She was a really big girl.
So anyway....I'm tired. I can't wait for this next week because surely it'll be much better. Surely. I know the power of the dark side because I've got my fill of it this week, but I also know as Yoda said..."My ally is the Force, and a powerful ally it is..." What doesn't kill you makes you stronger...right. So I'll look forward to a good week, because I know that God is definately up to something. Somehow this will all work out on the otherside and I'll be a stronger & wiser person for it.
I wan't to see how to post videos to the blogger so here you go. This is a video I shoot at Brandon's church when Skillet came. It was just me and my miniDV. It was a great show and I got to go all over the stage. Anyway...enjoy the vid...if it works.
"The boy is dangerous. They all sense it; why can't you?" - Obi Wan Kenobi
Thump! That's what I heard yesterday while at my computer. It was just me and my son, Xander. Haven was enjoying a week long vacation at the grandparents. Anyway, my office is in a little hutch in the living room & my back faces the TV. Xander was playing in the floor and that's when I heard the "Thump!" So I turned around and Xander was in the floor just rolling around having a good time. Hmmm. So I just turned around and went back to work. A couple of minutes later..."Thump!" Again I turn, a little faster this time, to see what happened. Xander's just laying there playing. Doesn't look hurt. So this time I keep one I on him. He walks over to the ottoman ,which is front of the entertainment center to keep him out of it, and climbs on top of it. Then he LEAPS over to the love seat just across from it. He does that alot so that didn't bother me, he's actually gotten real good at it. Then he stands on the edge of the chair and raises his hands above his head like some kind of olympic diver and JUMPS! THUMP! He body slammed the floor. There was one of those throw pillows from the couch under him...but that was it. That boy has no fear! A month ago while at a hotel pool, he jumped into the deep end and started dog paddling. He was doing pretty good too...till dad grapped him up. He was all smiles as he came out of the pool. Uncle Tom...I blame you! lol
"Do not defy the council, Master, not again." - Obi Wan Kenobi
Well the Jedi council has made it clear that "Jedi do not abandon their post" and I don't want it to be said that Qui-gon's defiance was found in me. So for the time being I will be pulling double duty. I'll be posting on both sites. Don't worry, just read one or the other because it'll be the same post, I'll just copy and paste. So it looks like Life on Yavin IV will continue and Editar_G's adventures have just begun.
Han Solo: All right, Chewie, let's get outta here! Princess Leia: The Empire is still out there! I don't think it's wise to... Han Solo: No time to discuss this in committee! Princess Leia: I am not a committee!
Well like Han Solo...it's time to get out of here. Yes. My work here is done. There are other places in the galaxy to explore so we're packing up the X-wing and leaving Yavin IV. I'm headed for the Myspace system on the outer realm. There's been lots of activity in that region as of late so I've decided to go and check it out. I will stil be blogging, but it will be from the Myspace system where I have assumed the name of Editar_G (my sci-fi alter-ego).
So please follow this link to Editar_G's myspace blog.
Does anybody know the proper response to that phrase...I bet C does.
This blog really has nothing to do with this pic...but it's just too cute not to post. Haven is staying at her grandparent's this week and they took her to Aunt Cawcaw (I'm guessing that's how it's spelled) and let her ride princess. You'd think she was born on horseback. She took too like she'd been doing it all her short life. I quess try as I may, I'm not going to get all the redneck out of her blood...oh well...it could be worse.
Ok. So, what's been going on with G? Why haven't I posted? Why did Dallas sign T.O.? Ok, so maybe you're not interested in the last one, but it's definately been a source of irritation for me...What were they thinking? I apologize to all my loyal readers (all 4 of you) for not posting, but being a stay at home dad & working from home as proved to be very time consuming & stressful. I'm always tired and Jenn says I'm moody...me moody, c'mon. Why I ought too...(maybe she's right).
Business in up and down. That's about how I'd describe it. Experts say you should have at least 6mo salary saved before you dive into your own business. Well I'm no expert, but I can see the wisdom in that statement. It takes awhile for business to start flowing continually. At the moment it's more of a drip with an occasional gush. Things are getting tight and to add to that Jenn will most likely be let go from her current job (damn corporate politics). Makes you want to just go and hit somebody in a suit. I don't understand the attitude or mindset of these corporate types. They are incapable of seeing people as people rather than numbers to be crunched. Irritating. It's been proven over & over again that if you take care of your people - your people will take care of you. But then greed steps in and they see that they can make more money by slashing and slashing. Ok enough of that rant.
So we're in a pickle as it is. Seems we're always in a pickle here lately. I hate pickles. Never liked them, they smell funny and I don't like that juice that covers them.
But God again is faithful and I can see that He has a plan for us. It's hard to be patient but if there's anything I've learned through my recent struggles is that waiting for God is a lot better than the alternative. So I'll wait.
Jenn is doing really good with BeautiControl. It's a christian based cosmetic company that she's gotten involved in on the side. Hopefully she can turn it into a full time career and get out of that corporate rat race.
Me, I'm still pushing Red Five. If Jenn loses her job, I may have to get back into the workforce and do Red Five on the side again...we will make it work.
So that's it in a nutshell oh...I turned 34 yesterday! Yeah. So what did I do for my birthday...
