Life on Yavin IV
Hello there. I'm Jedi Knight G. Since the creation of the New Jedi Order by Master Skywalker, the Jedi have been free to take part in previously forbidden activities. One of those being Marriage. The following are the tales of my experiences being married with children. May the force be with you...G.

What next????
"You don't know the power of the dark side." - Darth Vader

After this past week/weekend, I think I have a pretty good idea of it.
It's just been one thing after another...bunch of little stuff that snowballed into one big....@#%%&@*(#%#@!
You get the idea.

First thing is the situation with mine & Jenn's jobs. Jenn's is uncertain. She could be unemployed any day now. I'm thankful that it hasn't happened yet. My job, well I'm not firing myself, but I definately need to drum up some more business. Need to spend some money on advertisement, but I need to make some money, but I need to advertise to make money, but I need to make money to advertise...the endless loop.
The hunt for another full/part time media job has went nowhere. Not much out there, atleast that would allow me to continue what I do with Red Five. So that's frustrating.
I went to White Hall to shoot some video for Brandon and his fall theme. Shot lots of video, it's a big project. There was one 5 minute section that needed to be done by this past wednesday. Well, when I got home to edit it...all the footage was great, EXCEPT for the one section that had to be done....OHHHaAAAAGEHAHHNNGGG! So B met me a couple days later to reshoot.
Then Rocky came over and I was going to show him some tricks on Final Cut (using B's footage) and none of my camera's seemed to want to work with my MAC!! WHAT?!!??? HUH??? My MAC & Cams just decided they wouldn't talk to each other. Fast Fwd 2hrs later and now that's fixed, but Final-Cut won't stay open unless the capture window is up (I know most of you don't understand what's up with the editing gear, but just know that it was frustrating). I found out that I needed to reinstall the Final-Cut suite, that takes 2hrs.
But wait - There's MORE.....
Got our waterbill in and it was $80....WHAT!!!!!! Just happens that we have a big leak out by the main. So here comes Bryant water to check it out. "Well, it looks like the leak is about a foot on your side of the main" Translation- It's your problem, not ours. 12inches. 12inches on my side and I'm out a couple hundred bucks. 12inches the other way and the city would've taken care of it. So there you go yoda...size or length does matter.
But wait - There's MORE...
Ok, I won't go into detail here but let's just say "BILLS". There you know what I mean.
But wait - There's MORE...
Jenn & Pam were going to Hamburg friday night to do a Spa. Part of Jenn's BeautiControl business. They were also going to pick Haven up from the grandparents and drop Xander off. Both of our vehicles had that check engine light on, so I took my Santa Fe (aka RED 5) to Jiffy Lube that morning and got it all serviced up. Done! I'll do Jenn's later when we get some money...hahahahahhahahaahahhah Sorry, I just thought that was funny. So Jenn and Pam took Xander and got into the recently serviced Santa Fe and headed to Hamburg. I was going to use the free time to work some more on Brandon's project. Well about 40min later Jenn calls "Paul, the truck is dead." WHAT!!!!!! "It just stopped running." They were stuck just outside of Pine Bluff with no air or water in a dead truck. Rewind...Xander's with them, my 21month old son. I'm gone. I grabbed my insulin and some needles (cause I know I'm going to be awhile) and run. I got my flashers on and hauling. We call B, because his house is near by, but he's almost to his parents. Well, that won't work. But someone was praying and Brad, a trooper friend of Brandon's was in the area with his patrol car and he headed to them. He was there in about 10min. He loaded all of Jenn's spa products into his patrol car and took them to Brandon's. Brandon gave Jenn the code to get into the house through the garage and Xander got his first ride in a patrol car (don't make a habit of that son). Rewind...while Jenn & Pam were waiting on Brad & the tow truck, Xander was standing in the backseat and started to just let the water flow...his diapers didn't hold and he pee'd all over my backseat. And wouldn't you know it...there wasn't a diaper to be had. So they strip his pants off and Jenn is holding Xander up for everyone on 530 to see his business and here comes Brad & the tow truck at the same time. What a site that must have been. My son's first interaction with the police and he moons them.
So I pick them up from and we go to Hamburg. Of course I didn't tell you that I didn't sleep any the night before, must have been the stress. So Jenn has her spa, I swap out the kids and we head back to Bryant. We get home about 1:30am. unghhhh!
There goes my project time. When I get up the next morning the last thing I want to do is work. Oh and it looks like it's the transmission...I'm trying not to think about it. But the day goes without too much turbulance.
But wait....yeah you know
Today, everything seems to be going ok. I'm in the recliner studing our lesson for small group at 4p and Haven is playing. She's dancing with one of her animals and steps onto the curve base of her rocking horse, loses her balance and falls into the oak entertainment center. OWCH!!!! I run and pick her up to hold her and kiss her booboo. Then I realize that her cry is one of those...this is REALLY painful cries. If you're a parent, you know there are different degrees of a cry. This was a level red. She opened her mouth and all a saw was blood. "She bit her tongue!" I thought, then I saw a gash just under her lip. "She bit through her bottom lip!".......pause...."JENNNNNN!" Jenn & Pam grab haven up and get a rag, I call our small group and inform them that there will not be a meeting tonight, and we go to the emergency room. I have to say that the staff was GREAT! They did a great job at getting Haven calmed down and making her feel safe. The nurse was incredible. The doctor just put some glue on it and a band-aid and said it should be ok in about 3days. When it was over Haven was covered in stickers provided by the nurse and telling everyone "Bye!" I'm glad she did so well. She was a really big girl.

So anyway....I'm tired. I can't wait for this next week because surely it'll be much better. Surely. I know the power of the dark side because I've got my fill of it this week, but I also know as Yoda said..."My ally is the Force, and a powerful ally it is..." What doesn't kill you makes you stronger...right. So I'll look forward to a good week, because I know that God is definately up to something. Somehow this will all work out on the otherside and I'll be a stronger & wiser person for it.
