My 12th Wedding Anniversary |
"Just being around her again is intoxicating." - Anakin Skywalker
Today is my 12th Wedding Anniversary! I've been fortunate and blessed to be married to a beautiful and loving woman for 12yrs. I know I'm fortunate because most people don't know or well ever know what it's like to enjoy a wonderful marriage. I thank God everyday for granting me the honor of journeying through this life with my wife, Jennifer.
However, it sucks royally that we can't be together today. She's in Little Rock and I'm way down here in Hamburg laying tile. I'd much rather be with Jenn. Heck, I'd even sit through a chick flick at this point.
My little girl called me today while I was working and left a message, I couldn't answer when she called. The message was her telling her Mom that she wanted to talk to her Daddy. "I wanna talk to my Daddy...I wanna tell him I love him." Mind you she was also crying...I 'bout near gave it up at that point. Since I've been a stay-at-home Dad, the kids and I have really gotten to spend some time together, and I've enjoyed it. Although, I know that I'm often on the computer when I'm at home with them....that's gonna stop. If there's one thing I've learned it's that work will ALWAYS be there...there will always be something to do, but my children won't always be here. They won't be kids for long...soon they'll be riding off in their car, hanging with their friends, then moving out and getting married. I need to spend more time with them. To heck with trying to accumulate lots of stuff...quality time with family is much more important.
Well, it's late and I'm tired. I'll talk to y'all laters. |

Thank you for all you do for us. You are a wonderful father and a great husband. I love you very much and wish you were with me today, but you are doing what has to be done.
Hang in there. You'll be home soon.

Hey G,
I totally agree with you - work will always be there, your kids won't. When people ask me why I am not dedicated to the military (like a "real" Soldier is suppose to be) - I respond with this..."If I die today the military will have forgotten by tomorrow. If I die today, my family will remember forever." I place my time and effort in those that care.
Love ya, tlc
