The Chronicle of Narnia |
WOW! That was a great movie...an EPIC! I can actually say that I have visited Narnia and I plan on going back there again real soon. This was a great movie adaption to the C.S. Lewis novel. I'm sure he's smiling. The wife and I went to see it monday night, aunt Boom Boom kept Xander for us. So Jenn & I had a nice date night. It began with dinner at the Olive Garden. Ummm. I Love me some itailian. Then we went and did some quick christmas shopping while waiting for the movie to begin. What & who we bought for...well that's classified. Sorry. Well, after our brief shopping excursion we headed of to the RAVE, which by the way is a great theatre to watch movies in. OH! and get this....this most have been an early christmas present from the theater, because there were NO COMMERCIALS! That's right...NONE! Just movie trailers....WOW! I thought I had stepped in a time warp and went back 10yrs. Any way...the movie. It starts a little slow, but once it gets going you can't turn away. The kids all do a great job (unlike a certain other child actor who killed EPISODE 1) of portraying their characters. You really got involved with them. And the graphics...WOW. Completely stunning. I actually believe beavers can talk now. And Aslan...that voice. I actually cried a bit as they were tormenting him. The biblical context is evident, but it doesn't override or overpower the story. It was really done well. This is a movie for the entire family. I encourage you to go out and see it again and again. The studio said if it does well they well make other "Chronicles". Well, it beat out 'Mr. Potter' it's first weekend, so I'm guessing it did well. I can't wait for the next one. |

Uncle G! Sup? Hey, is that movie as good as you say it is. I'm thinking about seeing it this weekend with a couple of kids from youth group. Oh yeah... cute pix from Xander's b-day

Courtney,
Yes, the movie is awesome. It's ranks right up there with the original StarWars and Lord of the Rings. That's good company to be in. Jenn and I are going to see it again this weekend...and quite possibly another time before it leaves the theatre.

Paul, You speak truth about the movie. Caraline, Alicia and I saw it on Saturday. I was crying right along with you. I thought the battle scenes were cool and not too gory for the kiddos. (Nothing like Helms Deep or Pelinor Feilds of course). Caraline (7) absolutely loved it. I'll definitely be back! C-ya.
